It’s quite the interesting time for the travel/tourism industry needless to say. Depending on where you’re located, you may have the opportunity to begin to travel at your leisure as things slowly begin to open up and adapt towards the end of 2020. In saying that, vacationing and travelling won’t be the same as we remembered – not for while anyway.
Cheaper Hotel Rates & Cruise Packages
Perhaps a silver-lining in the madness of what the Coronavirus as become; hotel rates have fell drastically and are expected to continue to worsen before they make a return, similar to the aftermath of 9/11. Not only hotel rates, but cruise rates and packages will also be hitting all-time low’s as cruise lines struggle to spark demand for 2021.
Point being? If you’re comfortable with and able to travel later this year and early next, shop around. You will likely be able to find a bargain for your dollar and save some coin for the extra sanitizer. Even easier, you can search for the best deals with our Luxury Access tool here.
Digital Travel
As the digital world had already made its mark on the airlines/travel industry, it is poised for a full fledged takeover come travel time this fall. Everything is going digital – your passport, healthcare data, check-in processes etc. Before these tools were there to help with efficiency, and now they’re going to be mandatory to ensure the safety of everyone. Touchless travel.
Hyper-cleanliness
As you would expect the priority list to go for large travel conglomerates, cleanliness and actually staying open will be the main focus of airlines, cruise ships and other major travel mediums. Expect more staff around continually wiping things down, sanitation stations and disinfectant centres will all enter the new norm as we begin to re-open global travel.
